Provision or De-Provision a storage container

Unisphere for PowerMax supports the management of serviceability VASA virtual hosts.

Prerequisites

See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

If Unisphere for PowerMax creates and manages the virtual host, then the virtual host should be modified with a signed CA certificate file.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Serviceability > Applications > VASA > Virtual Hosts.
  3. Select a VASA system.
  4. Select a host and click Provision / De-Provision Storage Container.
  5. Use the Arrow icon arrow to move items from the De-Provisioned Storage Container List to the Provisioned Storage Container List and use the Arrow icon arrow to move items from the Provisioned Storage Container List to the De-Provisioned Storage Container List.
    NOTE:  If the storage container has active vVol bindings, then a UI prompt is displayed to allow the forced De-Provision of the storage container(s).
  6. Click Close.
